About Chef Stokes
Hello everyone this is Chef Stokes from Stokes BBQ food truck. I am the second-generation owner of the business. Stokes BBQ food truck is my heart and soul. I want to tell you a little bit about myself. My love for cooking has been since I can remember. My love for baking came early on in my life as I would sit in my grandmother's kitchen watching her prepare baked goods for Thanksgiving and every other holiday that we celebrated with family.

Many of my summers we would travel to Georgia and Alabama and celebrate with our family with big barbecues. My dad would be the Master of the grill. I was always his sidekick in the kitchen. As I grew and got older my love of being in the kitchen just grew even more. I became more experienced and created new dishes that I loved. I then attended culinary school at Bunker Hill College where I expanded and learned so much more in the art of culinary. I learned how to make some of the most beautiful cakes as well as International pastries
These creations could be on display at any event and it encouraged me to get better at my craft and become more serious. I decided to keep the family business growing as I learned more about the food industry. Along my journey, I have learned a lot. I do cakes for all events. I have auditioned for MasterChef the television show twice and although I didn't make it to the finals the experience I will cherish forever. Stokesbbqtruck has been a staple in the Boston community. I have big shoes to fill. I inherited great baking and cooking skills. I hold all of my dad's recipes close to my heart and I must say learning the business firsthand was a blessing in disguise. I am proud to say that I have kept the cooking tradition and the business going.
Generations of Flavor: From Jessie Stokes to Latricia Stokesokes
Born in Augusta, GA in 1943, Jessie Stokes developed a passion for fishing, cooking, and sports, with basketball holding a special place in his heart. Raised in a family of sharecroppers, he learned the value of hard work on the farm. At 16, he left for Boston, determined to thrive in the big city.
Starting his career at the Boston Housing Authority, Jessie's love for cooking led him to sell BBQ at city festivals. The positive feedback fueled his decision to retire after 35 years of service and launch Stokes BBQ Truck in 2005.
Known for its southern favorites, the truck quickly became a Boston community staple, especially after introducing Jessie's Famous Chicken Wings. With Patricia Stokes creating delectable sides, the business, now a family endeavor, soared with catering requests.
Today, the legacy lives on as Stokes BBQ Truck has transitioned to his daughter, Chef Stokes, ensuring the continuation of the family's delicious tradition in the heart of Boston.
